We are the Dickinson College African American Society.
We are an award winning collective of students whose purpose is the uplift of Black History and culture, while actively engaging with the social issues and current events of our time. As students we take on the responsibility and privilege to further our education in learning from each other and building lifelong friendships and memories together.

The Society
Our membership has included students from Ghana to Trinidad, from Los Angeles and New York City to Bethlehem and Lancaster, Pennsylvania; Africana Studies, Women & Gender Studies, Neuroscience majors, Mathematics majors, Portuguese minors, and more.
We recognize, discuss, and support each other in the intersectional qualities of our identities.
Ours is a learning space- all are welcome to be a part of this work and journey of learning critically and living communally.
One Family, One Love.

The Events & Activities
AAS prides itself on inviting the community in, not only to our regular meetings, but to our celebrations.
Great food, artful performances, stimulating discussion and ideas, and the joy of community.
AAS events are not to be missed- if you're late, the food might be gone (but fun can still be had)!
